Having dinner and catching up is just not enough to build a meaningful, genuine, and reliable community. This is why we are challenging you to engage in a different way of communication during your friend date.
Take turns exploring each question together. Please answer each individual question listed under each section.
Section 1: First, you will on hypothetical scenarios
- If you were a video game character and you had to create yourself, how would you look?
- What characteristics would you have?
- Talk about what your likes and dislikes would be, your dream job, or dream vacation.
- Compare all your choices to how your life is now.
Section 2: Next, we will explore deeper personal reflections and valued qualities in a friendship
- What is the best compliment or piece of advice someone has given you?
- What was your life like during that time? How did it impact you?
- How did it make you into the person you are today?
- Do you have anyone in your life who could use that advice now?
Section 3 (Part 1): Finally, you will concentrate on vulnerability.

During this section, keep an open ear. Listen to your partner without providing commentary. Once both parties have shared, you can move on to the suggested questions below or just speak freely!
NOTE: This is information that you will not share with anyone. The purpose of this section is to give you the opportunity to be vulnerable. It can be a scary feeling for both partners. That’s why it’s important that you take the risk together.
Section 3 (Part 2): Share your feelings about your life now. This may even be just embarrassing moment or a personal problem
- Share what would be important for your partner to know about you, if they are to become a close friend who is a constant in your life.
⁃ Tell your partner what you like about them; be very honest. I encourage you to say things that you might not say to someone you've just met.
