Club Constitution

ARTICLE 1.  NAME

Section 1. This organization shall be called the Better! AroundUs Sosocial Club and will henceforth be referred to as “the club”

ARTICLE II.  MISSION AND STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Section 1. The mission of the club is to ensure the personal and collective advancement of women through community-based programs and shared experiences. We’re creating an ecosystem where every woman feels supported, can develop their potential, and collaborate toward a stronger community. We investment in women’s health outcomes and development by providing spaces where women can connect, learn, and lead together, strengthening both individual confidence and community resilience. Our initiatives centralize community engagement and promote sustainable social impact. This is how we fulfill our commitment to making the world around us better.

This is accomplished by promoting sociability and progression of the ideals of the club through:

  1. Club wide social and volunteer events

  2. Community support campaigns

  3. Connection to public health resources

  4. Career and Professional Development

Article III – Membership

  • Section 1. Eligibility: Membership is open to individuals who identify as women, pay membership fees, who support the mission of the Organization, and who agree to abide by the rules, policies, and ethos of the Organization.

  • Section 2. Enrollment and Term: Membership begins upon approval of the application (if required), payment of the dues or fee, and acceptance of membership terms. The term is defined by the membership class (e.g., monthly or annual).

  • Section 3. Rights: A member in good standing has the rights and privileges assigned to their membership tier, including participation in events, access to programs, and any voting rights the Organization may grant.

  • Section 4. Obligations: Members agree to uphold the mission and values of the Organization, to pay any required fees or dues in a timely manner, to participate respectfully in events, and to support the community in positive ways.

  • Section 5. Good Standing: A member is considered in good standing so long as they have met their financial obligations, complied with membership policies, and behaved in a way consistent with the Organization’s standards.

Article IV – Cancellation and Refunds
Membership cancellation and refund rules are governed by the Membership Policy adopted by Equity partners and as detailed in the Organization’s refund policy. Members may cancel in accordance with those terms, and refunds (if applicable) will be processed per the published procedures.

Article V – Governance and Relations

  • Section 1. Structure: The Organization is governed by a Equity partners in Better AroundUs. Members may have certain rights to input, feedback, or participation as defined by the Board policies.

  • Section 2. Member Participation: Members are encouraged to actively participate in events, volunteer activities, and programs. The vitality of the membership community is essential to fulfilling our mission.

  • Section 3. Accountability: Members and the Organization alike agree to transparency, mutual respect, and shared responsibility. Members may raise concerns, provide suggestions, and expect timely responses from the Organization’s leadership.

ARTICLE VI. AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION

Section 1. All Articles of the Constitution are immutable and no vote may be held to remove an article of the constitution.

Section 2. An amendment to an existing article can be proposed at any formal meeting with 75% of all active members in attendance physically or virtually. A follow up meeting to vote on the amendment will be scheduled within 14 business days of a proposed amendment. For a vote to occur, 75% of active members must be physically or virtually present at the follow-up meeting. After the members vote, the acting Executive director (Chief Executive Officer) will consult with the acting Executives (Employees with “Officer” in their title), and any acting partner with equity in the business. They will ensure the proposed amendment does not violate any of the original articles of the Constitution or the go against the mission of the club. They will then vote on the amendment. The member with the highest amount of equity at the time will have their vote count twice. The active member’s vote results will count as one vote.

Section 3. The passing or the failure of the amendment must be announced within 14 business days of the member’s vote. Any passing amendments must be posted within 30 days and enforced no earlier than 90 days and no later than 120 days.

Article VII – Adoption
This Constitution becomes effective on December 1st, 2025 and shall be binding on all current and future members.
